Drum screener for compost L 4000
L 4000 is the Pezzolato drum screener dedicated to the selection and separation of woody biomass and compost. It is an essential professional machine, easy to use and maintain, with an excellent quality/price/performance ratio.
It is mounted on a particularly strong electro-welded frame, with the motor (electric or diesel) positioned at the front of the machine, together with all the hydraulic transmission parts.
The large hopper (2300 x 1200 x 600 mm) is equipped with a chain link feeder belt and allows a large quantity of wood chips to be loaded in one go.
The drive is transmitted by a chain, welded around the cylinder, and a gearbox with hydraulic motors. The screening cylinder, made of 5 mm thick sheet metal and with customisable hole size, can be easily changed by a single operator.
The rotation speed of the cylinder can be adjusted by the operator according to production requirements, allowing the machine to return between 15 and 35 cubic metres of screened material on an hourly basis.
The useful length of the screening cylinder is 4000 mm and consists of two sections: a first part (length 1500 mm) with small-diameter holes to separate the dust, and a second part (length 2500 mm) with intermediate-diameter holes to separate the ‘screened’ part of the wood chips from the larger (oversized) elements, which are ejected from the end of the cylinder.
Pezzolato screeners are widely used in the selection of wood chips to be burned in automatic feed boilers: they separate the fine parts or outsized flakes in a single pass to obtain a product of homogenous grain size.
In stationary/electric versions, the drum screeners can be set up on feet or on a concrete base.
