PTH 800/820 E
PTH 800/820 E Industrial drum chipper in stationary electric version, for automatic feeding.
The PTH 800/820 E chippers are industrial, stationary machines, equipped with an electric motor, mainly used in: biomass plants, wood pellet and briquette plants, sawmills and chipping areas.
These chippers are capable of processing large quantities of logs (of any kind), but also trimmings, offcuts and sawmill waste, in a short time, producing up to 100 cubic meters per hour of high quality and homogenous size wood chips.
The diameter of the chipper drum (820 mm) and the width of the feeding opening (750 mm) allow the machine to process logs with a diameter up to 350 mm.
The clear cut guaranteed by the knives and the high inertia of the drum reduce the strain and the stress on the electric motor, confirming the well-known production capacity and robustness of the drum chippers by Pezzolato.
These chippers are usually fed through vibrating tables, vibrating conveyors, rubber belts depending on the type of material to be processed and on the production requirements. The automatic feeding can eventually be supported by a metal detector to detect the presence of iron pieces before the material to be processed reaches the drum, reducing risks of accidents and damages.
The cutting system used by Pezzolato consists of a closed drum with staggered sections equipped with knives, a counter-knife, and an interchangeable calibration grid. This system guarantees the production of quality wood chips, as the closed drum allows the cutting length of the wood chips to be kept fixed and constant. The wood, subjected to the action of the knife, is transformed into calibrated chips, which are able to pass through the calibration grid immediately after cutting.
Worth mentioning is the system with the collapsible counter-knife: this system minimizes any damage caused by the accidental introduction of foreign bodies (not biomass) into the chipper.
